The Celebration of fashion as artistic expression has been a core value of Neiman Marcus since our doors first opened in 1907. Since then, NM has amassed a contemporary art collection representing many of the world's most important artists, "The Art of Fashion" campaign has hit the 20-year mark, and we've launched some of fashion's biggest names.
Continuing that legacy of nurturing design talent, we collected faculty nomination from the country's most prestigious fashion schools, among them, Parsons The New School for Design, Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, Savannah College of Art and Design and School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Each nominee was tasked to submit an article of clothing utilizing new or creative materials in its construction. We requested a presentation detailing the process, including inspiration board, illustrations, and material exploration, as well as on-figure photographs of the completed garment.

From the 27 impressive entries, NM executives selected these five NIEMAN MARCUS ART OF INNOVATION STUDENT WINNERS. Their imaginative, winning projects - from shoes rendered on a 3-D printer to headline news told through a narrative of high-concept clothing- define fashion in ways that are uniquely their own. - Stacy Girard
